Hello, my
name is Judson Caldwell and I am the Owner and President of Caldwell &
Cowan Funeral Home. I am a native of Covington, Georgia. My wife, Ginger, is a
native of North Carolina, but grew up in Virginia. We have been married for 27
years, and have two children, Adam and Kathryn. We became owners of Caldwell
& Cowan in 1991.
Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home was
established in 1933 by my grandfather, G.W. Caldwell. The tradition was carried
on by my father, Lewis Caldwell, and my uncle, Sam Cowan. I am a graduate of
Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC, and a graduate of Gupton-Jones School of
Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Georgia. One of the highlights of my career was
when I served two years as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. I spent one of those
years in Viet Nam at the U.S. Army Mortuary in Saigon. It was this experience
that ultimately led to my decision to carry on the family business. In keeping
with my philosophy of commitment to the community, I served eleven years as a
Council Member on the Covington City Council, and am a past president of the
Covington Kiwanis Club. Ginger and I are members of First Baptist Church in
Covington, and I have served on the Board of Deacons and as Deacon Chairman. We
have both been active with various church committees. Our goal is to provide
professional, personal and compassionate funeral services to each family we
serve, and to afford every person we come into contact with the courtesy,
respect and dignity they deserve.
